  • May 23 | Hiking in the footsteps of the "Witch"

    Feudingen Train Station

    Sieg-Lahn-Straße 6-16

    57334 Feudingen

The approximately 10-kilometer route leads along well-maintained paths through the springtime landscape of the upper Wittgenstein region and ends in Bad Laasphe with a stop at the castle café. The hike will be led and commentated by local historian and hiking guide Reinhard Schmidt.

The focus of the hike is the story of Katharina Heinrich, who was accused of witchcraft in the region in 1611. At several stations along the way, Reinhard Schmidt connects scenic impressions with historical facts: the origins of the accusations, the role of superstition, and social pressure in the 17th century.

The hike is intentionally planned at a leisurely pace and is suitable for participants with a moderate level of fitness. Several breaks will be taken during which historical texts will be read aloud and key topics discussed.

Registration is possible until May 21, 2026, at 5 p.m.:
